Roots Boys and Girls Varsity Volleyball Schedule:

Monday, 12/8/25: Quarterfinals Playoffs
- Girls Varsity at 3:30 PM vs. El Sol Academy
- Boys Varsity at 4:30 PM vs. Oxford Prep
- Location: Vista Heritage| 2609 W. 5th Street, Santa Ana
- No Bus transportation. Parents are responsible for providing transportation for their athletes. Depart CRA @ 2:15 PM
Tuesday, 12/9/25: Practice CRA Courts | 3:15 - 4:30 PM (if the team advances)
Wednesday, 12/10/25: Semifinals (if the team advances)
- Girls Varsity at 3:30 PM vs. TBD (if the team advances)
- Boys Varsity at 4:30 PM vs. TBD (if the team advances)

Girls Varsity Volleyball

Michelle Tryba

I’ve been an athlete my entire life, playing soccer, volleyball, and running track throughout my school years. My experiences in sports taught me the importance of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance, which I now strive to share with my athletes. I have a passion for educating others and creating an encouraging environment where players feel comfortable learning new skills and challenging themselves. My goal as a coach is to help each athlete grow in both skill and confidence while having fun along the way.

Boys Varsity Volleyball

Michelle Voccola

Mrs. Voccola (Coach Cola) has been a full-time teacher with Community Roots Academy since 2013. She has been a part of the Roots Volleyball program for the past 3 years and has also started the Roots Pickleball Club. Mrs. Voccola is a Southern California native, and you’ll often find her at the pickleball courts, volleyball games, or on the soccer fields with her husband and two children, or even walking the Aliso Wood Canyon trails with her furry companion. Along with teaching and sporting activities, she values reading and playing many types of card games, and watching her favorite sports teams, the Los Angeles Kings and San Francisco 49ers.

Joe Mulligan

Hi! My name is Joe Mulligan, and I’m a first-year teacher and coach here at CRA. I bring over 10 years of coaching experience, including two years assisting with high school volleyball. I’m passionate about helping athletes grow—both on and off the court—and I can’t wait to watch your girls develop their skills and confidence every day in this amazing sport. It’s going to be a great season full of growth, grit, and a whole lot of fun!
